Vantra Partners is retained by an international CDMO specialising in the manufacture of biologics for the global pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. With an established international manufacturing network and a broad range of technical capabilities, our client partners with emerging biotechnology businesses, established pharmaceutical companies and virtual biotech organisations to support programmes from early-stage development through to clinical and commercial manufacturing.
As part of its continued international growth strategy, our client is looking to appoint a commercially driven Business Development Manager based in the UK to lead its business development activities across the UK and NORDIC markets. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious Business Development professional with experience in the biologics CDMO industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a business development strategy for the UK & NORDICS market, aligned with the company's international commercial objectives.
- Identify, target and secure new business opportunities with biotechnology companies, pharmaceutical organisations and emerging biotech businesses.
- Build and maintain a strong pipeline of opportunities across biologics development and manufacturing services.
- Work closely with the global business development team to coordinate international opportunities and strategic accounts.
- Support the development of the company's wider European commercial strategy.
Requirements
- Proven experience in Business Development, Sales or Commercial Management within the biopharmaceutical, biologics or CDMO industry.
- Strong understanding of biologics development and manufacturing services.
- Demonstrable success in identifying new business opportunities and converting prospects into commercial agreements.
- Willingness to travel regularly.
- Experience with biologics drug substance manufacturing, particularly mammalian cell culture and microbial expression systems.
- Knowledge of monoclonal antibodies, recombinant proteins, biosimilars or other therapeutic protein modalities.
- Understanding of cell line development, process development, analytical development, technology transfer and GMP manufacturing.
- Experience working with both emerging biotech companies and established pharmaceutical organisations.
- Existing relationships with UK/NORDIC biotech clusters and pharmaceutical hubs.
- Experience working within an international CDMO environment.
