Job description

About the Opportunity

Our client is looking for Clinical Research Administrative Specialists to support their Research Office team within a managed services environment. The team provides back-office support for clinical research studies, including clinical trial budgets, coverage analysis, study calendars, and other trial documentation.

The immediate need is heavily focused on clinical trial budget development and negotiation. Candidates should have hands-on experience building, reviewing, and negotiating clinical trial budgets—not simply exposure to budgets or working around the budgeting process.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Develop clinical trial budgets, including building budgets from scratch
  • Review and QA clinical trial budgets for accuracy and completeness
  • Negotiate budgets with sponsors and other external stakeholders
  • Support financial feasibility and study financial analysis
  • Assist with coverage analysis and research billing determinations
  • Review clinical trial protocols and related documentation
  • Develop and maintain study calendars and other trial documentation
  • Work within clinical trial management systems (CTMS)
  • Support industry, federally sponsored, and investigator-initiated studies
  • Manage multiple client projects/studies in a consulting environment
  • Communicate with internal teams and external client stakeholders
  • Contribute to process improvements and provide guidance to more junior team members as appropriate

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred, but equivalent hands-on experience may be considered.
  • 3+ years of clinical research administration experience
  • Hands-on experience developing clinical research/clinical trial budgets
  • Experience with coverage analysis
  • Strong Excel skills
  • VLOOKUPs
  • Pivot tables
  • General data analysis and financial tracking
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects/client needs
  • U.S. work authorization

Strongly Preferred

  • Clinical trial budget development AND negotiation experience
  • Experience building budgets from scratch
  • Direct sponsor negotiation experience
  • Experience with financial feasibility and study financials
  • Experience with sponsor invoicing
  • Knowledge of clinical trial policy and research billing rules
  • Coverage analysis experience
  • Experience with clinical trial management systems (CTMS)
  • Experience within a Sponsored Research Office, Central Research Office, academic medical center, teaching health system, or cancer institute
  • Experience supporting multiple studies, clients, or projects
  • Oncology or other complex clinical trial experience
