Working at the forefront of infectious disease research, you will help shape programmes that improve the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of diseases affecting millions of people across Indonesia, the region and beyond.

As Director, you will provide the strategic, scientific and operational leadership for OUCRU-IND, building on its strong reputation for collaborative research, capacity strengthening and partnership working. You will lead an exceptional team of researchers, clinicians and professional staff while developing your own internationally recognised research programme.

About OUCRU Indonesia

OUCRU Indonesia is part of the Oxford University Clinical Research Unit, a major overseas programme of the University of Oxford and one of the Wellcome-supported major international research programmes, focused on tackling some of the world's most pressing health challenges.

The Role

Reporting to the OUCRU Programme Director, you will:

  • Develop and deliver the strategic vision for OUCRU-IND.
  • Lead and inspire multidisciplinary research and professional teams across multiple locations.
  • Strengthen and expand partnerships with Indonesian institutions, government bodies, funders and international collaborators.
  • Ensure the highest standards of scientific excellence, research governance and operational performance.
  • Raise the profile and influence of OUCRU-IND nationally and internationally.
  • Secure major research funding and support the growth of the Unit's research portfolio.
  • Mentor researchers and contribute to the development of the next generation of scientific leaders.
  • Represent OUCRU-IND within the wider Oxford and global health research communities.

This role offers the opportunity to influence national and international research agendas while helping to address some of the most significant health challenges facing the region.

About You

You will have:

  • A distinguished track record of clinical or public health research.
  • Experience leading successful research programmes and multidisciplinary teams.
  • An excellent publication record and evidence of international scientific standing.
  • A strong track record of securing significant external research funding.
  • Outstanding leadership, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Experience working in international and collaborative research environments.
