Job description
One of our early-stage portfolio companies is building a new healthcare AI business focused on building high-quality data services and they are now looking for or a Head of Clinical Trials to join the business and build out that vertical.
Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end planning and execution of prospective oncology studies across multiple hospitals, labs, and research partners
- Lead regulatory strategy and submissions (HMSC, ethics committees), applying hands-on HMSC experience to manage approval timelines
- Identify, evaluate, negotiate with, and manage CROs, holding them accountable for milestones and deliverables
- Identify and onboard hospitals, oncology centers, and principal investigators, from feasibility through contracting and activation
- Oversee blood and tissue collection programs and genomic data delivery (WES, NGS, ctDNA) with sequencing labs, biobanks, and pathology partners
- Ensure compliance with Indian clinical research and biospecimen and genomic data transfer regulations
- Own program budgets, trackers, and risk registers, and give leadership clear recommendations on regulatory pathways, vendors, and cost
Qualifications
- 8-15 years in clinical research, ideally in pharma or biotech, with significant sponsor-side study management experience
- Hands-on involvement in at least one successful HMSC approval, with a clear account of their personal contribution
- Proven experience evaluating and selecting CROs, including RFPs, technical assessments, and commercial comparisons
- Hands-on management of clinical study budgets, timelines, and vendor performance
- Experience with IEC approvals, protocols, informed consent, and Indian clinical research regulations
- Someone excited about building a global healthcare AI business
