Job description
Our client is looking for an experienced Medical Science Liaison (MSL) to support its Cardiovascular activities across Belgium.
This is a national, primarily field-based role, with direct engagement with physicians and other relevant healthcare professionals across Belgium.
The successful candidate will take over an established portfolio of KOLs and physician relationships. The objective is therefore not to build a network from scratch, but to maintain continuity, strengthen existing scientific relationships and deliver ongoing Medical Affairs activities.
The client is looking for somebody who can become operational quickly, work independently and confidently represent Medical Affairs in the field.
Key MSL Activities
- Act as a field-based scientific and medical point of contact for healthcare professionals across Belgium.
- Take ownership of an existing portfolio of KOLs, physicians and scientific stakeholders.
- Maintain and develop the quality of existing scientific relationships rather than establishing a new network.
- Conduct regular face-to-face and virtual scientific exchanges with physicians.
- Communicate and discuss relevant scientific and clinical information in a clear, balanced and credible way.
- Discuss clinical data, publications, treatment approaches and developments within the cardiovascular therapeutic area.
- Respond appropriately to scientific and medical questions from healthcare professionals.
- Gather relevant medical and scientific insights from the field and communicate these internally to Medical Affairs colleagues.
- Identify emerging scientific topics, questions, unmet needs and trends coming from healthcare professionals.
- Support Medical Affairs activities such as advisory boards, scientific meetings, congresses and medical education initiatives, where required.
- Collaborate closely with the Medical Advisor and wider Medical Affairs team.
- Ensure high-quality follow-up with existing external stakeholders.
- Manage field activities and stakeholder interactions independently across the Belgian territory.
- Work in line with applicable Medical Affairs processes, compliance requirements and scientific standards.
Must-Have Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of actual MSL experience.
- Previous direct, field-based interaction with physicians and/or KOLs.
- Strong scientific communication and presentation skills.
- Confident conducting scientific discussions with healthcare professionals.
- Able to work independently and become operational quickly.
- Fluent in Dutch, French and English.
- Comfortable travelling nationally across Belgium.
- Strong organisational and stakeholder-management skills.
- Motivated, adaptable and able to quickly learn a new therapeutic area.
- Existing right to work in Europe.
Previous Medical Affairs experience without direct MSL experience would not be sufficient on its own, as the assignment requires someone who can quickly take ownership of field activities.
Strong Pluses
- Previous experience within Cardiovascular / Cardiology.
- Existing knowledge of cardiovascular diseases, treatments or clinical data.
- Previous MSL experience within pharmaceutical or biotechnology organisations.
- Experience managing a national or broad geographical MSL territory.
- Experience supporting advisory boards, congresses and other Medical Affairs activities.
Cardiovascular experience is preferred but not mandatory. An experienced MSL from another therapeutic area who demonstrates strong scientific ability and can quickly learn the cardiovascular landscape could be a strong fit.

- Indefinite duration contract with Oxford Global Resources.
- Start: Urgent, ideally before the end of 2026.
- Geographical scope: National Belgium.
- Working model: Primarily field-based.
- Full-time.
