Research Finance & Compliance Senior Analyst

Location: Baptist MD Anderson Center, Downtown

Schedule: Part-Time, 20 hours per week

Job Summary

The Research Finance & Compliance Senior Analyst provides advanced financial and administrative support for oncology clinical trials and research programs at Baptist MD Anderson. This position is responsible for financial and compliance oversight throughout the clinical trial lifecycle, including pre-award budgeting, coverage analysis, contract financial review, and post-award financial management.

The Senior Analyst partners with investigators, clinical operations, and finance leadership to support timely study activation, accurate financial management, and compliance with institutional, NCI, NIH, cooperative group, and sponsor requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and review clinical trial budgets during study start-up and pre-award activities.
• Perform coverage analysis and support Medicare Coverage Analysis (MCA) review and negotiation.
• Review the financial components of clinical trial contracts and agreements.
• Provide pre-award and post-award financial management for clinical research studies.
• Manage financial activity within the Clinical Trial Management System (CTMS).
• Coordinate sponsor invoicing and monitor study-related revenue and financial activity.
• Track grants and research funding throughout the lifecycle of assigned studies.
• Prepare and maintain financial reports for industry-sponsored, cooperative group, and investigator-initiated studies.
• Monitor research activities for compliance with Baptist Health policies, Research Office guidelines, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Ensure financial processes align with applicable NCI, NIH, sponsor, and institutional requirements.
• Collaborate with investigators, research teams, clinical operations, and finance stakeholders to support study activation and ongoing fiscal performance.

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in research finance, clinical trial budgeting, grants administration, or related financial management.
• 7+ years of experience with pre-award budget development and post-award financial management.
• Strong working knowledge of applicable federal regulations related to clinical research.
• Familiarity with NCI, NIH, and cooperative group financial guidelines.
• Demonstrated experience supporting the financial and compliance requirements of clinical research studies.

Preferred Skills

• Experience supporting oncology clinical trials.
• Experience with CTMS financial management, sponsor invoicing, grant tracking, and financial reporting.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with investigators, research operations, finance teams, and external sponsors.
