Job description

Clinical Research Associate III

Kelly Science & Clinical | Part-Time Contract | Fully Remote

Position Overview

Kelly Science & Clinical is seeking a part-time, contract Clinical Research Associate (CRA) to support an ongoing ophthalmology clinical study, with a focus on retina experience. The CRA will support approximately six study sites located in the Central and Eastern United States. This is a fully remote position with periodic site travel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct remote and on-site monitoring activities for assigned clinical trial sites in accordance with the study protocol, applicable regulations, and sponsor procedures.
  • Review study documentation and source records to support participant safety, data quality, and protocol compliance.
  • Follow up with site staff on data queries, outstanding documentation, and action items; document monitoring activities and findings in a timely manner.
  • Maintain regular communication with site teams and the study team, escalating issues as appropriate.
  • Support resolution of existing site-monitoring backlog during onboarding and as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • At least four years of clinical research monitoring experience.
  • Ophthalmology clinical trial experience is preferred. Retina trial experience is a plus, but not required.
  • Experience monitoring ongoing clinical trials and working effectively with clinical research sites.
  • Strong organization, communication, documentation, and follow-up skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote, part-time contract role and travel to assigned sites.

Schedule and Travel The expected workload is approximately 75–100 hours per month. Hours may reach about 100 per month during onboarding and backlog support, then decrease over time. Site visits are expected approximately every three months per site, averaging about one or two visits per month after the initial period. The anticipated assignment runs through approximately May 2028, subject to study needs. Travel-related expenses are handled through the applicable expense-reimbursement process.

Compensation

  • W-2 contract
  • Starting at $75/hour
