Job description

An internationally recognised US law firm is looking to recruit a Life Sciences Associate (1–3 PQE) to join its highly regarded Brussels practice.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a leading European Life Sciences team, working alongside recognised practitioners on complex EU regulatory and contentious matters for some of the world's largest pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device companies.

The team advises across the full product lifecycle, combining sophisticated regulatory expertise with high-profile litigation and policy work before European institutions and regulatory authorities.

The Role

The successful candidate will gain exposure to a broad range of EU and Belgian life sciences matters, including:

  • Advising pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies on EU regulatory frameworks, marketing authorisations and market access.
  • Supporting clients in proceedings before the European Commission, European Medicines Agency and EU Courts, including challenges relating to product authorisations and regulatory decisions.
  • Advising on clinical trials, pharmacovigilance, drug safety, orphan medicinal product exclusivity and pharmaceutical legislation.
  • Working on pricing and reimbursement matters and wider healthcare regulatory issues.
  • Advising medical device manufacturers on product certification, compliance and post-market obligations.
  • Assisting with regulatory investigations, product safety issues and compliance matters.
  • Advising on advertising, promotional activities and the application of EU pharmaceutical legislation.

You will work closely with experienced partners on significant international mandates, gaining early responsibility and direct exposure to major industry clients.

Candidate Profile

The firm is keen to hear from candidates with:

  • 1–3 years' post-qualification experience in life sciences, pharmaceutical regulatory or healthcare law.
  • Native-level Dutch and excellent English language skills. French would be an advantage.
  • Experience gained within a leading Belgian or international law firm.
  • A good understanding of EU and/or Belgian pharmaceutical and healthcare regulatory frameworks.
  • Strong research, drafting and analytical capabilities.
  • The ambition to develop within an internationally recognised specialist practice.
