Job description
We are looking for an experienced Senior Product Owner to lead the development and delivery of digital products supporting Clinical Trials and Clinical Development.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who combines strong product leadership with hands-on experience in clinical research, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology or CRO environments.
You will work at the intersection of clinical operations, technology and data, partnering with clinical experts, business stakeholders, engineering and data teams to turn complex needs into scalable digital products that improve clinical research and trial delivery.
Location: UK, Remote
Contract: Fixed term contract for 6 months
What You’ll Do
- Own and communicate the product vision, strategy and roadmap for clinical digital products.
- Lead product discovery and translate clinical, business and user needs into clear product requirements.
- Own and prioritise the product backlog, including epics, user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Partner with Clinical Development, Clinical Operations, Engineering, Data, UX and business teams to deliver high-value solutions.
- Lead backlog refinement, prioritisation and planning within Agile/Scrum delivery environments.
- Define product outcomes and success measures, using data and customer feedback to continuously improve the product.
- Identify opportunities to improve clinical workflows and decision-making through data, analytics, automation and AI/Generative AI.
- Manage senior stakeholders, dependencies, priorities and delivery risks.
- Help ensure products meet the quality and compliance expectations of a regulated clinical research environment.
What You’ll Bring
- 8+ years of experience in Product Management and/or Product Ownership, with a strong track record of delivering complex digital products.
- Proven product experience within Clinical Trials, Clinical Development or Clinical Operations.
- Experience working within pharmaceutical, biotechnology, CRO or clinical research organisations.
- Strong experience owning product strategy, roadmaps, discovery, prioritisation and product backlogs.
- Proven experience delivering digital products within Agile/Scrum environments.
- Ability to translate complex clinical and business requirements into clear, scalable digital solutions.
- Experience collaborating effectively with engineering, data, clinical and business teams.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills.
- Experience working within regulated or high-compliance environments.
Nice to Have
- Experience with digital platforms supporting Clinical Operations, Clinical Development, study management, patient engagement, clinical data, research or regulatory processes.
- Exposure to AI, Generative AI, advanced analytics or intelligent automation within healthcare or life sciences.
- Experience delivering large-scale digital transformation or data-driven initiatives.
- Familiarity with product delivery tools such as Jira, Confluence or Azure DevOps.
- Product Management, Product Owner or SAFe certification.
