About the Role

We are seeking a proactive, high-performing sales professional to help expand our UK customer base. You will be responsible for driving revenue growth by promoting our portfolio across pharmaceutical, biotechnology, CRO, diagnostic, and academic sectors.

You will be the first sales hire, tasked with developing the market and, in time, building a team of your own. Our UK business currently grows organically through inbound demand alone — this is a genuine greenfield opportunity to build the market deliberately for the first time, with significant headroom and a commission structure designed to reward it. It is ideal for someone with a strong track record in life sciences sales who thrives in a dynamic, scale-up environment. This is a senior role with real strategic responsibility, but it is also hands-on.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own UK revenue growth across academic, biopharma, CRO and diagnostic customers.
  • Build a clear UK territory plan and account plans for priority institutions and companies.
  • Identify, qualify and convert new business across all customer segments.
  • Run outbound prospecting: cold calls, emails, LinkedIn and follow-up of samples, quotes and web enquiries.
  • Host mini-exhibitions and table-top events at universities, research institutes and science parks.
  • Visit customers across the UK to build relationships with PIs, lab managers, core facility heads and procurement teams.
  • Represent Antibodies.com at UK conferences and scientific meetings.
  • Work with procurement departments to secure supplier listings, framework agreements and e-marketplace access.
  • Develop a network of key opinion leaders (KOLs) and reference customers.
  • Manage quotations, pipeline and forecasts in our CRM, and report against agreed KPIs and revenue targets.
  • Feed customer and competitor insight back to marketing and product teams.

This is not an exhaustive list — the role will evolve as we grow, offering opportunities to broaden your impact.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in a life science field (MSc/PhD advantageous).
  • 7+ years’ experience in sales or business development within life science reagents, IVD or pharma/biotech.
  • A proven record of growing a territory or key accounts and consistently exceeding targets.
  • A strong network across UK academic and/or biopharma research.
  • Commercial maturity: you can build a plan, prioritise ruthlessly and measure what works.
  • Happy to be hands-on: you enjoy being in front of scientists, not just managing a pipeline from a desk.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and build trust.
  • Self-motivated, organised and confident working independently.
  • Full, clean driving licence and flexibility to travel across the UK, including occasional overnight stays.

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary depending on experience, with genuinely uncapped commission — your earnings scale with your success.
  • Car allowance or company car with business mileage paid at the HMRC rate (AMAP or AFR), plus all travel and event expenses.
  • 20 days' annual leave, plus 8 public/bank holidays and a paid Christmas closure (typically 4–5 additional days) — around 32–33 days off per year.
  • The autonomy to shape and grow the UK market as our first dedicated sales hire, with a clear path to building and leading a team.

How to Apply

To apply, please send your CV and a brief cover letter to hr@antibodies.com. We would like to know about a territory or account you grew and how you did it.
